<<Anyhow, am surprised no one has mentioned Chilton's commentary on
Revelation. He's preterist, of course, and has put together probably the
final word from the preterist view. Appears to be based upon sound Greek
exegesis. From the premill camp, Mounce and Ladd are my modern day
favorites. William Hendriksen's, "More Than Conquerors," is the classic
and succinct presentation of the amill position. If this one has not
been read, it is a must, just for starters.

To this list should be added Robert Thomas' commentary in the the Wycliffe
Exegetical Commentary series (premil), Steven (?) Gregg's parallel commentary
(preterist, historicist, idealist, and futurist) is a good commentary that
lays out the history of interpretation passage by passage (Thomas Nelson
Publisher); Volume 1 of David Aune's commentary is out in the Word series.
Gregory Beale's commentary will be out in the spring (NIGCNT); Mounce's
revised commentary just came out. These are the current primary exegetical
commentaries out or soon to be out for Revelation.
