1 Tim.3:2



It (1 Tim.3:2) is usually interpreted to mean that a man is not
qualified for ministry who has ever been divorced.  This seems to be a
bit strained.  I find two very fundamental reasons to object to this
view. 1.  The governing verb is in the present tense IENAI
(Pres.Act.Inf.
    of EIMI
2.  If it is taken to mean only one wife in one life then that
    effectively disqualifies from ministry those who are widowed.
