John Hurd is correct to cite R. P. Martin's important study as the
starting point today for following up scholarly investigation of Phil.
2:5-11, but I point out that Martin produced a revised edition of this
work, which contains now a 19-page "preface to the 1983 edition" that
updates the discussion subsequent to the appearance of the work in 1967.
