Re: Potential name changes... NT-GREEK and OT-HEBREW



It was almost a decade ago that titles here at WS were changed,
e.g., from Professor of OT Language to Professor of Hebrew Bible.
This was done because of (1) expressions of offense (usually not
at people being believers in Jesus but of their apparent
insensitivity), and (2) a strong belief that the Hebrew Bible
remains authoritative Scripture.  For subscribers to this forum
it is probably unnecessary to draw the usual distinctions 
between popular sentiments towards the the phrases OT and NT
and the theologian's sense of earlier and later.  After all,
the phrases as originally coined were from the same religio-
cultural milieu.
