On May 9 JTauber commented further on NIV word studies,the Living Bible, and
the Amplified Bible.

I agree re NIV word studies.  I believe there is an NIV exhaustive concordance
available.  Unless this concordance has some means to get at the original
language word (like Strong or Young on the KJV) it could be misleading.

Re the Amplified Bible, doesn't it fall afoul of JBarr's strictures re
"illegitimate totality transfer" with its piling up of "synonyms" for many
words?

Re the Living Bible, wait and see if the revision is an improvement.
