Re: Looking For Newly Discovered MS of John

There is a small fragment of John, not a palimpsest, dated to the first
half of the second century, nominally AD 125, which is a twentieth-century
find, but not recent. Since it came from Egypt, it makes a second century
date for John hard to argue. Among gospel MSS, the next runners-up are all
towards the end of the second century. One epistle MS is dated by a few
scholars to the end of the first century, also not a palimpsest.

Unless this is some dazzling discovery from the Petra Church being
excavated right now, I suspect you may have mis-heard some details?
Could you say where you heard of this?
