I went to bible study Wednesday evening and the scripture that landed on
me when it came time to read was 2 Peter 1:19-21 and I will quote:

  19. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; wherunto ye do well
that you take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,
until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
  20. Knowing this first, that NO PROPHECY (propheteia) OF THE
SCRIPTURE (graphe) IS OF ANY PRIVATE (idios) INTERPRETATION
       (epilusis).
  21. For the prophecy came no in old time by the will of man: but
holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

I do believe that God was just confirming my gut-feeling by confirming
it in His Word.
