top ten reasons to learn Greek

How about appealing to a broader audience: it helps increase one's
*English* vocabulary and understanding of *English* grammar, both
essential for effective communication! Even though the above may seem
like 'dumbing-down' the study, or like a 'bait-and-switch' technique,
I hear these cited often by students of languages as well as of
linguistics. As with many courses, the majors are usually outnumbered
by those seeking a liberal arts requirement or some such. So
marketing to that group is key to survival.
