Additional contributors include S. M. Baugh, T. David Gordon, Robert W.
Yarbrough and Harold O. J. Brown, all PhD Professors in New Testament at
different seminaries. Back cover reviewers/appraisers describe it: "This is
a series of grammatical, linguistic, exegetical, hermeneutical, and
theological essays. Together with its appendix...it is one of the most
comprehensive treatments to date on the subject....Fresh research and careful
analysis have been based on the wide range of extrabiblical Greek texts that
are now available...." "There is none [i.e., no other book] more thorough or
careful of balanced or biblical."
In light of the recent post on the confusion of the terms "gender" and "sex,"
it's interesting that this careful scholarly work opens with the sentence:
"The battles over gender issues in the church in recent years are signs of a
world that has strayed from God. Whatever God's design was for a humanity
made up of men and women, it was not one of division and strife, but one of
beauty and harmony. Since God exists, and since he made human beings male
and female, these distinct genders must have been created for a purpose, and
