Yep. It was dictated to The Prophet by the angel Gabrael in a cave outside
Mecca. Though illiterate, The Prophet was able to copy verbadum the word.
So, in reference to Dr(?)Tompkin's post, actualy the use of "compose"
would be appropriate -- The Prophet prepared the words of God for reading
by men.
