Raymond Martin published a series of three volumes, practicing what he
called "Syntax Criticism," in which he compared the syntax of the LXX
(Hebrew/Aramaic translated into Greek) with the syntax of "normal"
Hellenistic Greek literature. From this comparison, he derived a set of
syntactical phenomena which can be used to suggest that a passage of Greek
is/is not translated from a Semitic original.
One of his volumes dealt extensively with the syntax of the opening
chapters of Acts (1-11?), which seem to be more "Septuagintal" or semitic
in character. I seem to recall a fairly extensive analysis of Stephen's
speech.
The titles of the volumes all included the term "syntax criticism" or
"syntactical criticism"--I think the former.
