In the context of Ephesus, with ex-sorcerers making
up a considerable part of the membership (Acts19:19)
and Timothy sent there specifically to keep a lid
on MUQOI (1Tim4:4, 4:7), maybe the question is rather
to what does QEOPNEUSTOS *not* apply???
I read that when Paul says PASA GRAFH QEOPNEUSTOS his
main point is the comparison between GRAFH and
_The Apocryphon of Jannes and Jambres_ referenced
in the preceeding. That make it possible that IERA
GRAMMATA implies _Jannes and Jambres_ is GRAMMATA,
but not IERA. This is consistent with other Pauline
uses of GRAMMA Ro2:27 7:6 2Co3:6, GRAMMATA 2Co3:7
Ironically the rendering of both GRAMMATA (uniquely
to this verse) and GRAFH as "scriptures" in certain
"Translations" which will remain nameless ;-) has
not helped show the contrast Paul intended between
what is IEROS and that which, if this is the correct
antonym, is KOINOS.
But that's another can of worms :-)
