In my previous post, I hope my term "officialese" wasn't too free a
translation of Mayser's "Kanzleisprache". I wasn't trying to be
cute; I thought "the lingo of the chancellery" sounded a bit anachronistic
and "bureaucratic-speak" a bit journalistic. So I chose "officialese."

I suppose our modern equivalents would include "at this point in time,"
"in reference to the aforesaid X," etc.
