New Documents Illustrating Early Xnty 4 p167 cites an inscription found at
Byzantion which is an epitaph for a grammatikos and it ends:

LOUKOULLOS FILIAS TADE SOI MNHMHI EGRAPSEN
SHS GLUKERHS PSUCHS KENTRON APAUSTON EXWN

The editors understand KENTRON to be figurative as in 1 Cor 15. The
grammatikos' death has caused a lot of pain ('sting') for his friend
Lucullus. Almost, then, 'pangs'.
