Anyone who is unconvinced of the utility/necessity of knowing German in
order to do exegetical work in any NT writing should have a look at the
respective "literature (on)" (esp. the listing of commentaries) sections
which preface the discussions of a given NT book in the brand spanking
new (in English, anyway) NT Intro, _The History and Theology of the New
Testament Writings_ by Udo Schnelle (Fortress, 1998).

Yours,

Jeffrey Gibson
