Jonathan, you might want to check BDF #468 (2); this doesn't discuss our
phrase specifically, but deals with the whole passage from 12:6ff. as a
series of very loosely conjoined bits of exhortation.

Hesiod WD 320 CRHMATA D'OUC hARPAKTA, QEOSDOTA POLLON AMEINW "Wealth
(should not be) seized; far better is God-given (wealth).

To be sure, the IMPLICIT imperative ESTW isn't the easiest thing to find,
but the ellipsis of the verb to be is so common when there's a noun subject
and a predicate nominative that you really needn't be so OLIGOPISTOS.
