One possible cause is the recipients' mailer. Most mailers can be set
to download only the first part of a very long message. The volume of
traffic on B-Greek can be very high, too. If somebody has configured
their mailer to ignore or only partially download messages that exceed
a certain size, and the digest for a given week exceeds that size, it
could produce the effects that some have described.
