My Academic Computing Specialist says that this is the solution, at least
for a document in MSWord:
When you save the document use "save as" and click on "options" in the
dialogue box (it's on the right side). From the new screen that follows,
choose "embed fonts." He also warns that this uses a good deal more memory
than it would otherwise.
