How would this understanding be translated?

BAGD defines KOINWNIAi as "association, communion, fellowship, close
relationship." Definition 4 may have some insight, "participation, sharing
TINOS in something." It seems the first leads towards this understanding,
"On the basis of your association with the gospel." The other, "Because of
your participation in the gospel." Which do you prefer? Fee remarks, it's
not "quite casual in the strictest sense (i.e. that their participation in
the gospel causes him joy), but in the sense that it serves as a basis for
such joy."

What about this translation: "On the basis of your association with the
gospel from the first day until now"? Any suggestions?
