By joining the list I have now confused things by having two Jims
on it. Perhaps I should be addressed as Jim2 !?
Anyway, Purvis' book will not help you here as it is concerned
with the historical origins of the Samaritans and their Pentateuch;
something that the odd waw here and there will not help with. His only
interest in waw is in the indication it gives for the development of
Hebrew scripts.
There is in our library here a book that publishes the Samaritan
Pentateuch in Hebrew and then puts in bold type all those places (letters
or whole words) where the Sam differes from the MT. I think the book is
Jewish version-Samaritan version of the Pentateuch: with particular stress
on the difference between both texts, edited by Avraham & Ratson Sadaqa
(Tel-Aviv: [Rubin, Mass.], 1961-65).
But I am not in my library at the moment so that I cannot check this for
certain.
I am sure that somewhere one can find the differences listed and I
think I have a (home-made) copy in my notes but cannot find it at present
(my filing system is merely to pile everything up together).
