If anyone is unaware of it, the usage of ECW with an adverb is an important
idiom meaning "to be in X (the adverb) state/condition." Although KALWS
ECEIN is rare in the GNT, KAKWS ECEIN is quite common in the sense of "to
be ill" or "to be in a bad way." KALWS ECEIN appears in the appendix to
Mark's gospel: 16:18: EPI ARRWSTOUS CEIRAS EPIQHSOUSIN KAI KALWS hEXOUSIN.
("they will lay hands upon the infirm/sick and they (the sick) will be
well.")
