I found this tidbit very helpful. Do you have alternatives for other
particles? I also found your statement from another post (GAR in Phil 1:8)
on the role of particles in structuring Greek speech very interesting. What
might I read that would explore/explain that further? It sounds from the
way you put it that it is an area of research.

I would add that another idiomatic English alternative I've suggested to
students for GAR to get away from "for" is "after all." That would work
nicely in Mt 27:23.
