<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Exciting passage!&nbsp; If EMPROSQEN ( and it's
prepositional phrase) functions adverbially here, than I am intrigued to
know 'what light is to be shined before men?', and ' who is meant to do
the shining?'
<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Is the light the single hearted faith in God characterized
by Mt 5:3-12?&nbsp; Is it the devotion to Jesus called for specifically
in 5:11? Bertram (in "Theological Dictionary of the New Testament" v II,
p635) makes brief mention that KALA ERGA can refer to the sphere of moral
action.&nbsp; As KALA ERGA&nbsp; appears epexegetical of the 'light', would
any one following this strain support a primarily moral concern in contrast
to 6:1, or would you argue KALA ERGA otherwise.
<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Is Jesus addressing specifically the disciples or
God's people, Israel?
