I don't know about this. What I do know is that participles are great
things in Greek and maybe a generalization like this should not be made
hastily. Examples need to be noted and cited in both directions before
coming to a blanket statement and inconsistencies must be seen as well.

I don't add much to this, I'm sure. My $0.02.
