Interestingly enough the entry for the verb KATABALLW in the LSJ lists
this meaning as primary for the verb, but the noun KATABOLH lists the
meanings as foundation, base, and by extension, somehow, an illness.
That's a quick and dirty check, I'm sure someone else has more to come.
