Dear Dmitri,
It frustrates me that my grammar book does not deal with definiteness
in Greek when there is no article; so I am not qualified to give much of an
opinion tonight. But it may help to look back at 1 Cor 1:18, where Paul
seems to be saying that the word of the cross is "God's power." He then
says that God has made foolish the wisdom of the world. Finally he says
that Christ, as crucified, is God's power and God's wisdom. A definite
article with "wisdom" and "power" does not seem to be necessary. Because
QEOU precedes both words, it seems to be emphatic. Christ is "of God" power
and "of God" wisdom, as opposed to "of the world" wisdom. Paul will go on
to say that not many "powerful" according to the flesh were called. There
is an implicit contrast between worldly power and "of God" power.
