As opposed to "teachable" one may prefer "able to teach". This is well
presented in G. W. Knight III's book on THE PASTORAL EPISTLES, pages 159f.
He supports this with references to other Pauline passages which clarify
the term(s):

II Tim 2:24 and 2:25
Titus 1:9

However, a reflexive notion may be correct here ("teachable") as several
other terms seem to posit that notion: "respectable" and "hospitable". So
you have the immediate context and the far context(s) and they appear not
to agree. I find "teachable" very attractive. Good of you to note this
subtle nuance, hope others can further assist.
