Mr. Conrad wrote the following critique of Machens NT Greek for Beginners:
inadequate explanations of Greek constructions, some
questionable made-up Greek sentences to translate into English, and some
still-more-questionable English sentences to translate into Greek. I used
the text myself a few times, so I do have a basis for the judgment.
As you consider this, please remember that this text was a BEGINNER's
grammar. It was not and is not a full grammar, but was intended as a first
step towardlearning the language.
I agree, check out the "gateway". I put it in my list of favorite places.
And I use Smythe's at that location if I get really stuck, or I post a
question on this list. Someone here always knows.
