I have often wondered if passages such as these are
actually carefully constructed ambiguous phrases for a
reason.
I think both of your translations are possibilities,
and both reflect theologically accurate categories.
Surely we can attest to both God the Father and Christ
"contributing" to the resurrection of Christ.
This is not to suggest that one might not be able to
statistically determine which phrase is generally more
prominent. But may I urge that we give due diligence
to the Greeks' intentional use of ambiguity, and not
reduced it to an either/or proposition simply because
such a reduction more accurately would reflect MODERN
thinking.
