The issue, to my mind, is whether hUMWN was understood as a plurality
of individuals or as a singularity of group.
I lean toward the latter for two reasons:
1. I think the people of that time were far more communal. Therefore,
they naturally thought along those lines.
2. We today do not think like this; we are highly individualistic.
Therefore, I try to set that way of thinking aside and place myself
into their mindset.
If it is singularity of group then "among you" seems to be the best
English rendering.
