To the discussion list:

from a recent English version:

"When Joseph woke up from his sleep, he did as the Lord's angel had
commanded him. He took his wife home."

Does "He took his wife home" strike you as an accurate translation of
PARELABEN THN GUNAIKA AUTOU?

It doesn't seem accurate to me, but I'd like to check with others. To me the
Greek sounds like it has more the meaning of "he took her to be his wife,"
that is, he completed the marriage arrangement, rather than breaking the
betrothal.

Thanks,
Wayne
