There is no grammatical connection between the tense of PISTEUWN and the mood of the
verbs in the clause. APOLHTAI and ECHi are subjunctives, not futures, simply because
they are part of a hINA (purpose) clause. The subjunctive should not be understood
as indicating doubt about what happens to those who believe. The focus is on the
intention of the main verb (in this case EDWKEN in the prior clause). Since you have
Wallace, I suggest you look at his discussion on pg. 472.
