If I type "altavista" I get:
http://www.altavista.com/
which is *not* the search engine, but is the expected outcome, because
Netscape seems to consistently resolve "somename" to "www.somename.com".
Try "cnn" or "aol". I have no idea why you get the search engine when you
type just "altavista". (I tried "altavista.digital" but that wouldn't
resolve.)
I'm using 3.0 for Win3.1.
