  There would be no web as we know it without HTML. It is the very fabric of the World Wide Web. That's why it is essential to learn how to handcode HTML. In the process, you can customize and optimize your code your own way, granting yourself ultimate flexability and omniscient powers that the majority of HTML editors on the market can't. It can be very difficult to do everything by hand sometimes, but the road to enlightenment isn't an easy stroll throught the park.
