The central theme of the Lausanne Conference is the description, both from
an experimental and a theoretical point of view, of the chemical and
physical processes taking place in the femtosecond time domain in various
molecular media. The conference will be organized in sessions devoted to
the following topics:

        *       Elementary reactions
        *       Complex molecular systems
        *       Clusters
        *       Solids and Matrices
        *       Surfaces and Interfaces
        *       Liquids
        *       Biological systems
        *       Control
        *       Femtodynamics from Spectroscopy

The keynote lectures will be given by Prof. A. H. Zewail (Pasadena) and

Conference site: The conference will take place at the College
Propedeutique of the University of Lausanne, offering a nice view of Lake
Geneva and the Alps. An auditorium of over 300 seats has been reserved as
well as a terminal room for those wishing to use e-mail.

Poster contributions: Participants are encouraged to submit contributions
in the form of posters. They will be posted in the Hall of the College
Propedeutique on Monday, 4 September and can remain there throughout the
meeting. Each poster will be allocated a space of 1m vertical x 1.2 m
horizontal on a poster board.

Abstracts/Publications: All participants should submit a short account of
the talk or poster to be presented as a paper. We have contracted World
Scientific to produce such a valuable contribution in a Book which can be
used as reference material. Manuscripts should be typed camera-ready
according to the enclosed instructions and submitted to the Chairman, at
the conference, at the latest. The length of the papers is 6 typed pages
for invited speakers and 4 typed pages (incl. figures and tables) for
poster contributors. The Book will contain all presentations with
references, helpful to all persons in the field and in particular to young
scientists. It will be mailed directly to the author's address about three
months after the conference.
By June 15th, 1995, please send a short abstract (not exceeding one typed
page) in order to have the Book of Abstracts ready for distribution at the
conference.

Hotels: Accomodation has been reserved for participants in hotels down-
(and up-) town Lausanne. All participants, including invited speakers, who
wish to make a reservation should fill in the enclosed reservation form and
send it back as soon as possible to the Conference Secretary. Reservations
are effective once the total amount due has been paid.

Transportation: Lausanne is easily accessible by train from major european
cities and from the Geneva (40 mn) and Zuerich (2 hours 45 mn) airports.
Accomodation will be downtown which is about 20 min by public transport from
the College Propedeutique. A public transport card at reduced price, valid
5 days, will be distributed at the registration desk for those who would
have applied for it (see registration form).
