Workshop on Modelling of Localised States in
Condensed Matter
University of Keele, UK
June 14 - 16, 1995
AIMS: Discussion of the present status of development of
periodic and embedded cluster techniques and their
implementations for the studies of localised states.
The workshop is organised in a series of lectures by invited
speakers, oral presentations, and discussions of methodological
developments and will be limited to a total of 40 participants. In
addition there will also be an active poster session concentrated
on applications.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
*Comparison of periodic boundary conditions vs molecular
cluster calculations, i.e. which approach is appropriate for the
various systems and physical properties.
*Different embedding techniques for the bulk and surfaces.
*The best strategies for modelling long range polarisation.
*Comparison between solid state problems and those in large
molecules, disordered systems and solutions.
FURTHER DETAILS
Further details can be obtained from Prof. C. R. A. Catlow and
