Dear colleagues:

Two good starting points for the water/ions mobility problem around
DNA may be the following:

(1) "Modelling DNA in aqueous solutions", B. Jayaram et. al., Journal of
Scientific & Industrial Research, vol. 53, pp. 88-105, 1994.

(2) "Molecular Dynamics studies of DNA", D.L. Beveridge and G. Ravishanker,
Current Opinion in Structural Biology, vol. 4, pp. 246-255, 1994.

An experimental (NMR) paper which gives an excelent review about the
knowledge of the structure and dynamics of ions about DNA is:

(3) "23Na NMR of Concentrated DNA Solutions: Salt Concentration and
Temperature Effects", T.E. Strzelecka and R.L. Rill, Jorunal of Physical
Chemistry, vol. 96, pp. 7796-7807, 1992

Hope this helps !
