The first stanza was translated like this in French:
Le Jaseroque
Il brilgue: les t=F4ves lubricilleux
Se gyrent en vrillant dans le guave,
Enm=EEm=E9s sont les gougebosqueux,
Et le m=F4merade horsgrave.
In German the first stanza was translated like this:
Der Jammerwoch
Es brillig war. Die schlichte Toven
Wirrten und wimmelten in Waben;
Und aller-m=FCmsige Burggoven
Die mohmen R=E4th' ausgraben
Personally, I would have done the German differently - e.g. I prefer "Es
brilligte" to "Es brillig war", but I didn't do any of these translations.
Now back to Greek. So far I have:
HN BRILLIG, KAI hAI TOFAI SLIQAI
EGIRSAN KAI GIMPLESAN EN TW OUEIMPW
hAI MPOROGROFAI MIMSIGAI HN
No, I'm certain that isn't right...I'm in over my head again...help!
