Major Annoyance: HTML in Messages

This is not directed at James individually, but could people please be
careful when using their mailers that it *NOT* include all of this
HTML-like cruft in their out-going messages.

Not only it is very annoying to those of use who have to read it, it also
make it simply all but impossible to even read your message. For example
the following bit of gibberish:

I presume that there is some option on your mail-reader that controls
this behavior. Please find out what that is and dis-able this behavior.

If this is not optional behavior on your mail-reader, please get a new
mail-reader that does not have this behavior.

Again, this is not simply an annoyance to your reader. As author you
should be aware that most readers are seeing much of your messages as
simple gibberish.
