I read that too. And it seemed to me at the time that, besides the Romans passage use,
Paul was making such an issue out of the fact that the Galatians were eye witnesses to an occurrence, that the occurrence could not possibly have been contrived - as per a "portrayal",
much less a theatric production. Though I'll grant you, Paul's phraseology can be just as vigorous.
