Re: Paul's use of the Preposition dia with the Accusative
There is an aspect of human speech which I imagine is universal to
all languages including B-Greek, that there are economical ways to
say things which signal meanings only to those who share a common
background. Thus there are many prepositional phrases in B-Greek
which have no precise information load apart what the reader knows
to be true from other discussions. The ambiguity of the phrase is
accentuated for us who have not livedthrough the events of the
author's experience, or who have not come to a firm position on
what was an author's theology and therefore intended allusions.
Thus many meanings will not be found in examining grammarian's
summaris on prepositional phrases.
