For refs. and recent discussion on "theos" in John 1 and other NT cruxes
of note, see now Murray J. Harris, JESUS AS GOD:  THE NEW TESTAMENT USE OF
THEOS IN REFERENCE TO JESUS (Grand rapids:  Baker Book House, 1992).  I
have some criticisms of the book that I have expressed in a review
forthcoming in JBL, but the book is a good place to start or check on any
