invitations

Is there any point in Luke's use of FONEIN in 14:12 when the standard word
for "invite" is KALEIN, a word used in 14:13 and, indeed, a key word in
14:7-24?

While on the subject, there was a social class in the Archaic period called
the AKLHTOI - a group uninvited to symposia but who performed at them. Did
such a class still exist in the imperial period?

Is it possible that the term KLHTOS in Rom 1:1 (and elsewhere) had social
connotations and was (still) associated with meals?
