Just doing a little more "detective work" on the LXX phrase DIA TOU PLINQIOU in the
LXX of 2 Samuel 12:31 [2 Kings 12:31]. Using the online classical dictionary of the
Perseus Project, it appears at first glance that it does not refer specifically to a
brick "kiln" at all. The same would hold true for the Latin Vulgate's "typo
laterum." In both instances, the word for "kiln" is entirely different. Do either
the LXX or Vulgate text allow for brick "making"?
