Dear Carl,
thank you for your comments. After I posted my questions, I looked up
LXX, and came to the conclusion you suggested. The Hebrew text also
suggests the same conclusion.
But my real question comes down to whether the following parsing is
grammatically possible:
[ hOS [OUK EMMENEI PASIN TOI GEGRAMMENOIS EN TWi BIBLIWi TOU NOMOU]
[TOU POIHSAI AUTA]
]
If so, would it be grammatically possible to interpret the sentence as
follows:
not remain in all things written in the book of the law, BY DOING them.
This interpretation takes TOU POIHSAI AUTA as an adverbial of means.
I wonder if such an rendering is grammatically possible for TOU +
Infinitive.
