In the opinion of many scholars, based on an analysis of ancient MSS
and scribal tendencies, the handful of MSS used in forming the Greek
text behind the KJV, usually classified (by those who accept such
clasifications) as belonging to the Byzantine text-type or Byzantine
text-family, are inferior in quality. That they may lack this phrase
does not contradict the overwhelming MSS evidence in favor of its
inclusion. Multiple text-tpes, inlcuding Alexandrian and Western, both
clearly contain this phrase, and it should be accepted as original.
