"Correspondence with Tragan from Bithynia (Epistles X)". I only have an
english translation by Wynne Williams but I believe this is what you are
thinking about. 96.8 So I believed it to be all the more
necesarry
to ascertain what the truth was from two slave women,
who were called deaconesses, and under torture ...
If my memory serves me correctly the latin word used for "deaconesses" was a
transliteration of the greek word, thus implying (along with the context) a
technical term. I believe this letter was written around 110 C.E.
