The Hebrew for Hosea 6:7 reads

"For faithfulness I desired and not sacrifice
The knowledge of God more than burnt offerings". [Literally it is "from
burnt offerings" but that is the normal idiomatic way of saying it in
Hebrew]

Jesus' conformity to the Hebrew would be more authoritative than one of two
alternate readings from the Septuagint, no?
