The twelve schools that participated in the 1996 -ISM(N.) Project hosted Community Educational Activities, which were designed to expand the -ISM (N.) Project to the communities surrounding the twelve campuses. The planning teams for the Community Education Activities all included members of community organizations, in addition to faculty and students from the schools, in the attempt to move the dialogue beyond the campuses and create an ongoing constructive public discourse about diversity issues.
